A big part of getting used to the culture and everyday life of the USA is very much linked to new food experiences. The latest taste test / food review is for Breakfast at Denny’s which is a well-known American diner chain that is famous for its breakfast menu (available all day) and its pancakes.
Denny’s (originally started in 1953, California it was called Danny’s Donuts) is an American diner chain that has been running for over 60 years. The breakfast menu is very popular and is available at any time of the day.
The Taste Test
I had the ‘All American Slam’, which has scrambled eggs, two bacon strips, two sausage links, hash browns, toast and coffee – the drinks come as free refills (something I absolutely love about America).
Everything tasted good – the sausages were herby and packed full of flavour, the bacon was crispy and not too greasy, and both the eggs and hash browns were cooked well with a nice fresh taste. My toast was already buttered, and went really well with the meal.
The breakfast did not need any added salt to it, so I would advise not using any.
I was a little disappointed with the size of the sausages and could have done with three (they were very tasty and I can always eat more sausage), but everything was really enjoyable. It definitely set us up for a busy day, and I cannot wait to go again.
Have you been to Denny’s – what did you have? Is there a breakfast you would recommend?
